Aldridge Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College Athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo football player John Aldridge.

Aldridge, a junior placekicker from Richardson, was instrumental in Austin College's 16-7 victory over Sul Ross last Saturday at Jerry Apple Stadium. Aldridge scored 10 points in the win, connecting on all three of his field goal attempts as well as his lone point after attempt. Aldridge, who earned All-Southern Athletic Association honors last year in the program's final season in that conference, had a long field goal of 31 yards in the victory over the Lobos and was named the American Southwest Conference Special Teams Player of the Week.

Modern Woodmen of America is proud to recognize and support the ongoing achievements of Austin College student-athletes. Their North Texas Region understands that the pursuit of excellence on and off the field creates a foundation for continued excellence after graduation.
