Flynn Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College Athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo baseball player Nick Flynn.

Flynn, a senior outfielder from Crowley, had a huge weekend at the plate in Austin College's three game series with St. Thomas. Flynn batted .500 for the weekend, going 8-for-16 at the dish, including three doubles and a home run. He scored five runs and drove in two more, finishing the weekend with a .875 slugging percentage. Flynn also boasted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage over the course of the series. For the year, Flynn is batting .323 with two home runs, six RBI, and 13 runs scored, and has a .508 slugging percentage in 17 games. He has six doubles as well, and leads the 'Roos in extra-base hits.
