Landers-Wilburn Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College Athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo women's distance track runner Aimee Landers-Wilburn.

Landers-Wilburn, a freshman from Anna, has put together an outstanding season for the Austin College track team, setting personal bests in multiple runs throughout the year. During the East Texas Invitational at Texas A&M-Commerce, Landers-Wilburn moved into second place on the program's all-time list with a run of 5:05.26 in the 1500 meter event. That was a personal best, breaking her previous best of 5:12.36 that she set at Oklahoma Baptist on March 27. Landers-Wilburn also performed well in the 5000 meter race at TAMU-Commerce, finishing with a time of 19:48.64, her second fastest time following a 19:37.05 performance at Oklahoma Baptist.

Modern Woodmen of America is proud to recognize and support the ongoing achievements of Austin College student-athletes. Their North Texas Region understands that the pursuit of excellence on and off the field creates a foundation for continued excellence after graduation.
