SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College Athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo men's tennis player Brett O'Brien.

O'Brien, a senior from Plano, was outstanding in both singles and doubles action over the weekend in a pair of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference matches against Texas Lutheran and St. Thomas. O'Brien was unbeaten on the weekend, winning both of his matches at line one singles as well as pairing with Preston Spivey for a pair of line one doubles victories. He got the weekend started with an 8-4 doubles win at TLU to go along with a 6-1, 6-1 singles victory, and then added an 8-5 doubles win at St. Thomas while also earning a 5-7, 6-3, 12-10 victory in singles competition.
