West Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College Athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo women's basketball player Kacie West.

West, a junior from Sulphur, Oklahoma, has gotten off to a hot start this season to help the 'Roos open the year 3-0. West currently ranks second in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in scoring, averaging 20.3 points-per-game, with games of 21, 23, and 17 points so far this year. West also ranks among the SCAC leaders in both field goal percentage and three point percentage, shooting 50% in both categories. Last season West surpassed 500 career points, and is on the verge of passing 600 with a current career total of 589 in 51 games played. West has been an All-SCAC selection each of her first two seasons in Sherman.
