Nichols Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College Athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighing our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo football player Keegan Nichols.

Nichols, a sophomore from Cedar Park, was named to the D3Football.com National Team of the Week for the second time this season after a monster performance at Trinity University last Saturday. The linebacker had a game-high 15 tackles, including 11 solo stops, and came up with an interception against the Tigers. Nichols had 4.0 tackles-for-loss, including 2.0 sacks in the game to boost his Southern Athletic Association-leading TFL numbers to 13.0 on the year through just four games. 

Nichols is currently tied for the SAA lead with 46 tackles and leads the conference with 29 solo tackles, in addition to averaging a league-high 11.5 tackles-per-game.
