Collins Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College Athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighing our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo football player Colt Collins.

Collins, a senior quarterback from Princeton, made Austin College history last weekend when he broke 'Roo legend Bo Miller's all-time record for career total yardage while also leading his team to an upset victory over then-No. 19 Centre College at Apple Stadium. Collins totaled 295 yards of offense and accounted for all three of Austin College's touchdowns in the 20-13 win en route to being named the Southern Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Week. Collins threw for 156 yards while also leading the team with 139 yards on the ground, passing for two scores and rushing for another. The 'Roo signal caller tossed what turned out to be the game-winning touchdown with 10 minutes left in the game, finding Josh Lockhart in a fourth down situation for a nine-yard scoring strike.
