SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College Athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighing our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo men's soccer player Juan Rodriguez.

Rodriguez, a senior from El Paso, was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week after a pair of outstanding performances to help the 'Roos go 1-0-1 last weekend. The goalkeeper logged 200 minutes in net, surrendering just one goal in a draw with LeTourneau while also earning a clean sheet in a 2-0 victory over East Texas Baptist. Rodriguez made six saves against ETBU and added four against LeTourneau.

So far this season, Rodriguez leads the SCAC with 22 saves and is fifth with a .733 save percentage. He has also clocked 380 minutes in the net, the most by any keeper in the conference.
