Frank Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College Athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighing our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo women's basketball player Bryce Frank.

Frank, a senior from Granbury, was named to the D3Hoops.com Team of the Week for the second time this season after averaging 26.0 points and 11.0 rebounds-per-game while shooting nearly 68% from the field as the 'Roos went 2-0 against Centenary and Schreiner. The preseason All-American followed that up with a 28 point, 11 rebound performance in a win over Dallas, and ranks first in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in both points and rebound. Frank, who was named the SCAC Co-Player of the Year as a junior, has been named the SCAC Player of the Week four times this season.

To date, Frank is tied for second in the nation with 15 double-doubles, including seven straight. She has also scored in double figures in 30 straight games, and has topped 200 rebounds in each of the past three seasons. Frank recently surpassed the 1,500-point mark for her career, and heads into this weekend with 1,544 points and 926 rebounds. She's the leading active scorer and rebounder in the SCAC, and since the 1995-96 season, only Hall of Honor member Marissa Hesse has scored more points (1,881) for Austin College. Frank was the SCAC Newcomer of the Year as a freshman, and has been an All-SCAC performer every season of her career. She was also the Gene Day Award winner as the College's most outstanding female athlete both her sophomore and junior seasons. She was a fourth team All-American last season, and this year was named a preseason second team All-American by D3Hoops.com.
