Gents Suffer 4-2 Loss At Austin College

The Centenary men's soccer team fell 4-2 to the Austin College 'Roos on Friday evening in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contest at Jerry E. Apple Stadium.

Sherman, Texas - The Centenary men's soccer team fell 4-2 to the Austin College 'Roos on Friday evening in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contest at Jerry E. Apple Stadium.

The Gents (5-5-1, 1-3 SCAC) lost their third match in a row while the 'Roos (4-7-2, 2-1-1 SCAC) improved to 2-2-1 at home this season and took a 13-12-2 edge in the all-time series with Friday's win.

Austin College led 2-0 at halftime and each team scored twice in the second period, but a hat trick by senior F Louis Catchpole was too much to overcome for the Gents and Sam Spencer also scored for the 'Roos. Catchpole, who turned in his second hat trick of the season, scored in the 12^th minute on a free kick after being fouled to make it 1-0 and he later scored in the 62^nd minute and finally in the 80^th minute.

Sophomore D Dylan Clark (Allen, Texas) scored the Gents' first goal, an unassisted score, in the 70^th minute to cut the Austin College lead to 3-1. Sophomore F Carter Webb (Flower Mound, Texas) scored his third goal of the season in the 83^rd minute with freshman MF Kevin Huskey Jr. (Dallas, Texas) assisting that made it a 4-2 game.

Centenary freshman GK Sebastian Lutin (Fort Worth, Texas) went the distance and made three saves while Jayson Baldwin started for Austin College and made two saves in his 90 minutes.

The Gents, 3-4 in road/neutral contests this season, will wrap up the weekend on Sunday against the University of Dallas Crusaders in at Noon in Irving, Texas.

Centenary defeated Dallas 3-1 in Irving last season. The Crusaders (1-9, 0-4 SCAC) fell 3-1 to the University of the Ozarks at home on Friday.
