Celts Handle Austin College in 7-3 Victory

In the deciding game of the series, the Celts would open up the game hot, plating six runs in the first two innings. In the top of the first, with runners on second and third, John Sebok and Hunter Pachal would each drive a run in to give UST the early two-run advantage.

With an early Kangaroo error, the Celts would kickstart the second inning with a runner in scoring position. Trey Esacbedo would deliver with a RBI single which would bring home Mitch Gross. Down to their final out of the inning, Caleb Edmonds would launch a three-run home run to left field, his fourth home run of the year.

Zachary Brewer and the Celts defense would contain Austin College for the first half of the game, only surrendering three runs. Alex Schlosser (1-0) would pick up the win, only allowing one hit while getting UST out of a fifth-inning jam.

Heading into the seventh with 6-3 lead, Parker Edwards would put the finishing touches on this one with his RBI single to drive in Sebok.

The Celts picked up their first-ever SCAC series victory and advance to 14-10 on the season.

UST Baseball will be on the road next weekend as well when they travel to Shreveport for a three-game series with Centenary.
