Crusaders Dominate in Conference Opener

SHERMAN, Texas - The University of Dallas women's soccer team won their conference opener against Austin College 3-0 on Tuesday.  They improve to 2-2-0 on the year.

After a disappointing performance against Simpson over the weekend, the Crusaders bounced back in a big way, thoroughly dominating Austin College to open conference play.  In the end, Andrea Coppi's 25th minute goal would be all they needed to win the match, as they kept their first clean sheet of the season, but Dallas were far from satisfied with one goal.

They would double their lead not even four minutes later on an unassisted goal by Livia Le and could have had more with their relentless assault, but the Crusaders set themselves up nicely with a 2-0 lead at halftime.

The onslaught continued in the second half as Dallas aimed to put the game out of reach as quickly as possible.  After a flurry of chances in the opening minutes of the half, Claire Reed made it 3-0 in the 61st minute with her first goal of the season.  That would be the final goal of the game, but it certainly wasn't for lack of trying.  The Crusaders were ruthless, continuing to push forward to add to their lead, but they would have to settle for the 3-0 win.
