THE BASIC
Sherman, Texas – Amanda Turpin's layup with 1:29 remaining in the game proved to be the go-ahead bucket as the Eagles claimed a 64-58 win over Austin College. With the score tied 55-55, Turpin scored on a layup to give the Eagles a lead it wouldn't relinquish. After a missed shot from Austin College, Brittany Temple made a shot to give the Eagles a 59-55 advantage with less than one minute to play. The Eagles held a 25-19 lead at halftime and a narrow 39-37 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Neither team shot well from the field as Austin College made only 20 percent, while the Eagles made only 33 percent. Judy Forbes was a dominant inside force pulling down 19 rebounds in the game. Turpin led the team with 14 points.
