Water Polo Finishes Fourth at NCAA Division III Championship

CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Austin College women's water polo wrapped up its season on Sunday, as the 'Roos fell 16-3 to No. 3-seed Augustana at the event hosted by Pomona-Pitzer. The 'Roos end the season with an overall record of 8-12.

Augustana used a stifling defense throughought, holding Austin College scoreless in three of the game's four quarters while building leads of 2-0 after the first frame and 6-0 at halftime. Austin College broke through in the third, putting three goals on the board to make it 9-3, but Augustana erupted for seven goals in the fourth to put the game away and make it a 16-3 final. Alyssa Ross, Joslyn Dimitri, and Kylee Noble each tallied in the third period for Austin College and Emily Engberson had three saves, an assist, and a steal while tending the goal for the 'Roos. Ashley Easley added a pair of saves for Austin College in defeat.

Dimitri earned All-Tournament recognition for her outstanding performance in the team's two games, finishing the championships with a goal and a pair of assists.
