'Roo Tennis Falls to Concordia

SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College men's and women's tennis teams fell in their final home match of the season against visiting Concordia Texas, with the women dropping an 8-1 decision while the men fell 9-0.

On the women's side, the pairing of Karsyn Clouse and Bailey Standokes dropped an 8-3 decision on line one doubles, while the 'Roos defaulted on lines two and three. Clouse picked up a hard-fought win playing line one singles, coming away with a 6-4, 6-2 victory, while Emma Davidson was defeated 3-6, 1-6 on line two and Standokes was bested 1-6, 4-6 on line three. Austin College defaulted on lines four, five, and six.

Trey Salyer and Luke Henley battled but fell 8-3 on line one in doubles play on the men's side, and Evan Pezirtzoglou and Joe Colunga fell 8-1 on line two. Zeneth Mata and Mario Diaz were topped 8-0 to wrap up doubles competition for the day. Salyer competed at line one in singles, falling 1-6, 0-6, while Henley fell 0-6, 0-6 on line two. Pezirtzoglou dropped a 4-6, 2-6 decision on line three, while Colunga fell 2-6, 1-6 on line four, Mata was topped 1-6, 1-6 on line five, and Diaz dropped a 0-6, 2-6 match on line six.
