SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College men's and women's tennis teams dropped their home match against Whitworth on Thursday, with the men falling 6-3 while the women were defeated by a final score of 9-0.

The 'Roo men were swept in doubles action, with the team of Tate Nelson and Trey Salyer falling 6-2 at number one while AJ Wueste and Neel Gautam dropped a 6-4 decision on line two. The line three pairing of Yudai Abe and Luke Henley was bested by a score of 6-2.

Salyer fell 4-8 in line one singles action, while Nelson won his flight two match 8-6. Wueste added an 8-4 line three win, and Henley won 8-6 on line five. Gautam dropped an 8-3 decision playing number four singles, and Abe was topped 8-2 on line six.

On the women's side, Maya Leisey and Bailey Standokes fell 6-2 on line one in doubles competition and Sierra Thomas and Tara Tran fell 6-1 on line two, while the duo of Karina Alvarez and Cynthia Zapata dropped a 6-0 match playing flight three.

Leisey fell 0-8 on line one in singles play, with Thomas dropping a 1-8 decision on line two. Standokes fell 4-8 on line three, Tran was bested 0-8 on line four, and Alvarez dropped her line five match 3-8. Zapata rounded things out with a 0-8 defeat on line six.
