Women's Tennis Goes 1-1 at SCAC Championship

The Austin College women's tennis team went 1-1 at the SCAC Championship over the weekend, topping Centenary before falling to eventual champion Trinity University on Saturday.

The 'Roos topped Centenary 8-1 on Saturday morning, taking five of six singles matches and sweeping the three doubles matches. Sophie McDonald won 6-2, 6-1 at number two singles, Meghan White won 6-2, 6-2 at number three, Ashley Hellman won 1-6, 7-5, 10-4 at number four, and Jessie Berger won 6-0, 6-1 at number five. The 'Roos also picked up a singles win via forfeit.

McDonald teamed with Lizzie Flint for an 8-2 win at flight one doubles, and White and Hellman took an 8-4 win at number two while again the 'Roos earned another win via forfeit at the number three slot.

Against Trinity, the 'Roos fell 5-0 to the Tigers as the match went unfinished once Trinity clinched the victory with its fifth win.

The 'Roos began a third match against Colorado College on Sunday, and after going ahead 2-1 the match went unfinished with no victor declared.
