'Roos Swim Well Against Colorado and McMurry

SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College men's and women's swimming and diving teams performed well on Friday evening against Colorado College and McMurry, falling to the Tigers but downing the War Hawks 178-79 on the men's side and 157-61 for the women.

Liberty Chanin led the 'Roo women with a first place finish in the 1000 freestyle event, coming in with a time of 11:15.86, and added a second place finish in the 500 freestyle. Chloe Hunt added a first place finish in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:19.20 and was second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:06.35. The 'Roos added second place points in the 400 freestyle relay with the team of Sophie Garriga, Jade Kemp, Claudia Theriot, and Louisa Wallace touching with a time of 4:02.43, and Garriga also had a second place finish in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:54.27. 

Max Saenz gave the 'Roos first place points in the 50 freestyle on the men's side, coming in with a time of 22.94, and added another first place finish in the 100 butterfly with a time of 54.25. Saenz also finished second in the 100 backstroke with a time of 57.01, and David Mowles was second in the 200 freestyle, finishing with a time of 1:49.17. Mowles also gave the 'Roos a second place finish in the 100 freestyle with a time of 50.48. The men also added a second place finish in the 400 freestyle relay, with the team of Nic Cappellini, Sean Cookson, Charles Smith, and Mowles coming in with a time of 3:29.77.
