'Roo Women's Swimming Earns CSCAA Scholar All-America Honors

SHERMAN, Texas - The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released the Scholar All-America teams for the fall of 2017, with more than 680 collegiate swimming and diving programs earning the honor, including the Austin College women's team. The 'Roos are among five Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's teams and three SCAC men's teams to earn this honor.

The 'Roos posted a team grade-point-average of 3.23 to receive this distinction. For a team to be considered, it must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) as defined by the institution. The team grade point average includes all eligible varsity student-athletes.

Other teams in the SCAC to receive this honor were Colorado College, Southwestern University, and Trinity University, who each had both their men's and women's programs recognized, as well as the McMurry University women's team.

Founded in 1922, the CSCAA is the nation's oldest professional organization of college coaches. Its mission is to serve and provide leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming and diving at the collegiate level.
