'Roo Women Blanked by No. 21 Trinity

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Austin College women's soccer team fell 9-0 against No. 21-ranked Trinity University on Friday in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference road match. The 'Roos are now 1-9 overall and 0-2 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

Trinity scored five goals in the opening half and the 'Roos were never able to get much going offensively, as the Tigers out-shot the 'Roos 64-2 in the game. The Tigers also won 13 corner kicks to zero for Austin College, as Trinity controlled possession throughout. Mary Sheridan got the scoring going for Trinity in the 11th minute, and she'd score again 10 minutes later to make it 2-0. Sheridan made it a hat trick in the 24th minute, and the Tigers got a goal from Emma Everts in the 32nd minute. One more Trinity player would find the net in the opening half, as Bella Ferruzzi scored in the 39th minute to make it 5-0 at the break.

Trinity tacked on a goal in the 50th minute to make it 6-0, and the Tigers would add goals in the 67th, 71st, and 87th minutes to make it a 9-0 final. Kenedie Lane and Heaven Barber split time in goal for Austin College, with each player making 12 saves for the 'Roos.
