Six From Women's Basketball Earn All-SCAC

KERRVILLE, Texas - Austin College women's basketball player Kacie Was was named first team All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference while Ann Savage and Ally Longaker were second team selections, Reagan Chiaverini was a third team pick, and Natalie McCoy and Sarah Gwin were each named honorable mention All-Conference, the league office has announced.

West, a junior guard from Sulphur, Oklahoma, led a balanced Austin College offensive attack with 13.2 points-per-game this season, shooting 36.3% from three-point-range, good for fourth in the conference. She was also sixth in the SCAC in free throw percentage, hitting 80% from the line, and added 2.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals-per-game.

Savage, a fifth year senior from Tulsa, Oklahoma, led the 'Roos and ranked among the top five in the SCAC with 3.5 assists-per-game while boasting a 2.8-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. Savage added 4.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals-per-game while scoring 7.4 points-per-contest. She finished the season shooting 40.8% from the field.

Longaker, a junior forward from Half Moon Bay, California, was sixth in the SCAC with 7.2 rebounds-per-game, adding 9.7 points-per-game for the year. Longaker ranked sixth in the conference with a 49.3% field goal percentage, and also knocked down 74.6% from the free throw line. She also dished out 2.4 assists-per-game this season.

Chiaverini, a junior forward from Parker, Colorado, was second on the team with 11.0 points-per-game while shooting 40.9% from the field. She was also second on the team and 11th in the conference with 6.4 rebounds-per-game, adding 1.9 assists-per game for the year. Chiaverini also tied with West for sixth in the SCAC in free throw percentage, knocking down 80% of her attempts from the line.

McCoy, a sophomore guard from San Antonio, was third on the team in scoring this season, averaging 10.2 points-per-game while shooting 48.1% from the field and 46.3% from long distance. McCoy was second in the league in free throw percentage, hitting at a clip of 82.9%. She also added 2.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists-per-game.

Gwin, a freshman from San Antonio, averaged 8.4 points-per-game and shot 40.9% from three-point range, in addition to hitting 81% of her free throw attempts on the year. Gwin added 2.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists-per-game and shot 40% overall from the field during the season.
