Women's Hoops Rises in D3Hoops and WBCA Polls

SHERMAN, Texas - After going 2-0 last week to improve to 17-2 overall, the Austin College women's basketball team moved up in both the D3Hoops.com and WBCA Top 25 polls this week.

The 'Roos jumped up two spots to No. 22 in the D3Hoops.com poll, and moved up one slot to No. 19 in the WBCA Top 25 after defeating Colorado College and Johnson & Wales last weekend. Austin College has now won five straight games after dropping two in a row in January, and will be heading out on the road this weekend to take on Schreiner University on Friday and Trinity University on Saturday. The matchup with Trinity will be a nationally-ranked showdown, as the Tigers are ranked No. 14 in the D3Hoops poll and No. 15 in the WBCA rankings this week. Last weekend, the Tigers suffered their first Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference setback against St. Thomas, who in turn fell to Schreiner.

This marks the fifth consecutive week that the 'Roos have been ranked in both the D3Hoops and WBCA rankings. Austin College has won 10 games in SCAC play this season, marking the fifth straight year with double-digit conference victories.
