'Roos Set Personal Bests at OBU Invitational

SHAWNEE, Okla. - The Austin College distance track team saw several members set personal bests at the Oklahoma Baptist Invitational this weekend, and Johnny Biffar broke the school record in the 1500 meter event.

Biffar paced the 'Roos in that event with a time of 4:09.18, breaking the program record by three seconds in the process. That time was good for 13th place, while Christan Tomy cut his personal best by 11 seconds in that event, finishing with a time of 4:13.52 to come in 16th. Andrew Cutting also set a personal best in the event with a time of 4:54.59, placing him 35th, while Andrew Thomas was 32nd with a time of 4:35.89 and Burhan Biviji ran a time of 5:12.48 to come in 37th. 

On the women's side Aimee Landers-Wilburn also set a new personal best in the 1500, coming in with a time of 5:12.36, beating her old mark by five seconds and placing 10th in the event. Landers-Wilburn also ran well in the 5000 meter, once again coming in 10th with a time of 19:37.05. 

Gabe Graf placed well in the 800 meter run, finishing 17th with a time of 2:05.56, and Tomy was right behind him in 19th place with a time of 2:06.03. Biffar added a 19th place finish in the 5000 meter, coming in with a time of 15:58.40, and Thomas was 24th with a time of 16:44.38.
