Landers-Wilburn Leads at UT-Tyler Ice Breaker Classic

TYLER, Texas - Aimee Landers-Wilburn had an outstanding day to lead the Austin College distance track team at the University of Texas-Tyler Ice Breaker Classic, a meet that featured runners from NCAA Division I, II, and III in the field.

Landers-Wilburn finished 11th in the 5000 meter event, including second out of NCAA Division III performers, with a time of 19:53.17. That finish was good enough to win her heat, which not only featured Division III performers but also several Division II runners. She also finished fourth in her heat in the 1500 meter event, coming in with a time of 5:19.77. That time was good for 32nd overall in the event.

On the men's side, Johnny Biffar finished 19th overall in the 5000 meter race, coming in with a time of 16:14.55, and Christan Tomy was 32nd in the race with a time of 17:04.00. In the men's 1500 meter event, the 'Roos got a 21st place finish from Chris Biffar, who crossed with a time of 4:13.87 and took first place in his heat, which included multiple Division II opponents. Andrew Thomas placed 52nd in the event, finishing with a time of 4:40.57, and Andrew Cutting was 64th with a time of 4:55.07. Burhan Biviji rounded out the Austin College finishers with a time of 5:07.55, good for 67th.
