GEORGETOWN, Texas - The Austin College softball team fell 13-0 in its final regular season series of the season on Thursday at Southwestern University, bringing the 'Roos to 18-18 overall and 7-12 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

Austin College got two runners aboard in the first inning but were limited to just one hit for the remainder of the game, as Southwestern took control in the bottom of the first with six runs. Meghan McCarthy's solo homer started the scoring in the inning, and the Pirates added two more runs in the second. Emily Nevarez homered in the third to make it 9-0, and she'd add an RBI double to kick off a four-run fourth inning to make it 13-0.

Hailie Swiatkowski got the loss for the 'Roos, surrendering eight runs on 10 hits in 1.0 inning of work, while Tori Fowler, Chyrsi Hemby, and Carrie Johnson each had a hit for the 'Roos. Nevarez finished 3-for-3 with three RBI to pace Southwestern. Austin College and the Pirates will look to wrap up the series on Saturday with a doubleheader starting at 1:00 p.m.
