SUWANEE, Ga. - Austin College softball player Chyrsi Hemby has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week after a huge week at the plate, the league office has announced.

Hemby, a junior second baseman from Bonham, had a monster week for Austin College, batting .583 with a 1.167 slugging percentage, belting four doubles to move her into the national lead in that statistical category, while also adding a home run and 11 runs batted in. Hemby scored seven runs and had two games with at least five RBI as the 'Roos have now notched double-digits wins for the first time since 2016. On the season Hemby is now tied for the league lead with 24 RBI on the year, tied for fourth with 19 runs scored, and fifth in the SCAC with a .433 batting average.
