ABILENE, Texas - The Austin College men's soccer team dropped a close match on the road against McMurry University on Sunday, falling 2-1 to the War Hawks. The 'Roos are now 1-4 overall on the year.

McMurry got on the board early in the match, finding the back of the net in the 11th minute of action on a goal by Jordan Katende to make it 1-0. That would end up being the lone goal of the opening half, as Austin College was held without a shot attempt in the first 45 minutes of play. 

In the second half, the War Hawks doubled their lead in the 77th minute, getting a tally from Andres Martinez to make it 2-0, before the 'Roos were able to strike back with a goal from Pedro Echeverria at the 86:19 mark to cut the margin to one goal. However, that's as close as things would get as the 'Roos could not find the equalizer in the final minutes of play. The War Hawks finished with a 10-to-4 shot advantage in the game, and Connor Tullis made five saves for Austin College.
