Men's Soccer Falls Short at Southwestern

The Austin College men's soccer team fell behind 2-0 and was unable to overcome that deficit despite a late goal from Thomas Quick, dropping a 2-1 decision against Southwestern on Sunday. The 'Roos are now 1-13-4 overall and 1-10-2 in conference play.

Southwestern got on the board in the 25th minute of action on a tally by Andres Carreno-Mende, and the half would end with the Pirates leading 1-0. Southwestern added another goal in the 58th minute to go on top 2-0, before the 'Roos were able to put one in the back of the net when Thomas Quick snuck a shot just inside the post in the 82nd minute to make it 2-1.

However, the 'Roos were unable to get another shot in the game's final minutes and that's the way things would end. Andrew Celio made three saves as the 'Roos and Pirates each had 11 shots.
