'Roo Men's Soccer Drops High Scoring Match to Schreiner

The Austin College men's soccer team matched a season high with three goals, but Schreiner tallied a golden goal in the first overtime to hand the 'Roos a 4-3 loss on Sunday afternoon. The 'Roos are now 0-10-3 overall and 0-7-1 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play.

After 40 scoreless minutes to open things up, Gideon Ibemere put Austin College on the board in the 41st minute, but Schreiner squared things up just over a minute later. However, Austin College would take a 2-1 lead into the half as Garrett Matacale tallied with just 29 seconds left before the break.

Schreiner once again knotted things up on a goal three minutes into the second half, but Chris Abad-Jacobi tallied on a feed from Matacale to make it 3-2 in the 56th minute. The Mountaineers would force overtime 21 minutes later when they got a game tying goal from Justin Edwards, and in the seventh minute of the first overtime the Mountaineers got an unassisted goal from Ryan Hernandez to hand the 'Roos the loss.
