LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Austin College men's basketball player Jason Jones has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the league office has announced.

Jones, a sophomore forward from Houston, helped the 'Roos to a 2-0 week with wins over Arlington Baptist and Centenary, averaging 13.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, 4.0 steals, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 blocks-per-game while shooting 81.3% from the field. Jones posted double-doubles in both games, scoring 15 points and grabbing 14 boards against ABU and following that up with 12 points and 11 rebounds in a big conference victory over the Gents. For the season, Jones is fourth in the SCAC with 8.5 rebounds-per-game and ninth in field goal percentage, shooting 52.4% from the floor.
