SHERMAN, Texas – Austin College men's basketball player Justice Mercadel has been honored by D3Hoops.com as a member of its National Team of the Week, following a sensational weekend in a pair of games for the 'Roos. 

Mercadel, a freshman guard from Little Elm, averaged 25.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 4.5 steals-per-game while shooting 59% from the field and 60% from three-point range in narrow road losses to Schreiner and Trinity. Mercadel had career-highs of 31 points and 15 rebounds to go along with seven assists against the Tigers, while scoring 20 points with six steals against Schreiner. 

For the year, Mercadel leads the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in steals-per-game and also ranks in the top 15 in the conference in scoring, rebounding, assists, and blocked shots.
