SEGUIN, Texas - The Austin College football team fell behind 15-0 early and was unable to mount a comeback in the team's final game of the 2023 season, as the 'Roos fell 29-10 at Texas Lutheran University on Saturday afternoon to end the year with an overall record of 1-9.

After nearly 12 minutes of scoreless football to open the game, Texas Lutheran broke through with a touchdown run by DaKory Willis from eight yards out and the Bulldogs added a two-point conversion to make it 8-0. The Bulldogs added another score early in the second quarter, with Cayden Bosanko scoring from three yards to cap a 10-play, 79-yard drive to make it 15-0 with 10:23 left before halftime. The 'Roos got on the board just before halftime, as John Aldridge knocked in a 38-yard field goal to make it 15-3 at the break.

Texas Lutheran made it 22-3 on their opening drive of the second half, but Austin College put together its most impressive drive of the day, going 75 yards in 13 plays with Jaylon Talton finding Colin Mushinski for a six-yard touchdown to make it 22-10 with 5:13 left in the third. However, that's as close as Austin College would get, and the Bulldogs added one more touchdown with just over a minute left in the third period for the final points of the game.

Talton led the 'Roos both through the air and on the ground, completing 24-of-40 passes for 231 yards with a touchdown and a pick while adding 82 yards on 27 carries. Mushinski caught nine passes for 64 yards and Grant Yudizky added six receptions for 67 yards, and Josh Vreeland led the 'Roos defensively with a career-best 12 tackles, including 1.5 for loss.
