SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College baseball team earned a dramatic win in the final home game of the season, with Tripp Thoms delivering a walk-off 6-5 win over Arlington Baptist on Tuesday evening at Baker Field.

Arlington Baptist struck first in the game, as Layne Wilkerson roped a run-scoring double in the top of the first, but Austin College answered in the bottom half of the inning when RayShawn Riley launched a deep home run over the scoreboard in right field to square things up at 1-1. Mason Woodhouse added a solo homer of his own in the bottom of the second, putting the 'Roos ahead 2-1.

The Patriots evened the score in the top of the third, and Nathan DuVall's two-run home run in the fifth put ABU on top 4-2. That lead didn't last long, however, as Woodhouse singled up the middle to bring two runs around and tie the game once again, and in the bottom of the eighth, Brandon Hill doubled down the left field line to plate a run and put Austin College ahead 5-4. Arlington Baptist got the tying run across in the top of the ninth, but Thoms ripped a run-scoring single up the middle in the bottom of the inning, bringing Ashton Cason around to score from second to give the 'Roos the win.

Brant Stuber got the win in relief, giving up a run on two hits in an inning of work, and Woodhouse finished the game 2-for-3 with three RBI. Riley went 2-for-3 as well, while four different players had two hits for the Patriots. Kamron Meadows got the loss for ABU, surrendering a run on two hits in 0.1 innings of relief work.
