LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Austin College baseball player Trystan Mallory has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office has announced.

Mallory, a sophomore lefthander from Bonham, was dominant against Lyon in a 5-1 victory on Saturday, earning a victory to improve to 2-0 while lowering his earned-run-average to 1.23 on the year. He surrendered just one unearned run in 6.0 innings of work while throwing just 98 pitches, striking out a career-best 14 batters in the win. His 14 strikeouts are the most by an Austin College pitcher since 2007. Mallory walked one batter and allowed only three hits in the game, and has now struck out 28 batters in his last 18.0 innings of work. He's currently tied for the SCAC lead with 31 strikeouts.
