SHERMAN, Texas – One day after being named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, Austin College baseball player Chase Almaguer has been named to the D3Baseball.com National Team of the Week.

Almaguer's honor comes after throwing a no-hitter in a 12-1 victory over Blackburn College on Saturday, helping the 'Roos to a series sweep over the Beavers. Almaguer, a senior left-hander from The Woodlands, is 3-0 on the year and ranks second in the SCAC with a 0.64 earned-run-average, having given up just a single earned run in 14.0 innings of work so far this year.

Almaguer struck out three batters and walked just two in the victory over Blackburn, with the lone run coming home following an error and, later in the inning, a passed ball. 

Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
