Tew Named SCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week

Austin College baseball player Blaine Tew has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week for games played from February 10 through February 16, the league office has announced.

Tew, a junior right hander from Denison, picked up his and the team's first win of the season to close out a three game series with Schreiner, throwing 8.1 strong innings while allowing just one run on three hits. Tew took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and did not surrender a run until the ninth in a 5-1 victory.

Austin College athletic teams participate as a member of the NCAA Division III and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
