Welcome back from Spring Break, #RooNation. We hope that you all had a fun and safe opportunity to refocus moving into the final quarter of the year. With exams and graduation just around the corner, Austin College Athletics wants to wish you well in your studies the same way you support our Student-Athletes by attending home and road contests.
Our Tennis Teams have a big weekend coming up with Fan Appreciation Day and Senior Day coming back-to-back on Friday and Saturday. Our Distance Track Team travels to McMurry for their second meet of the year. Baseball and Softball both compete against Texas Lutheran University this weekend, with the Men’s Team taking on the Bulldogs on the road.
With plenty to do, including recapping the contests over the past week, this is your AC Athletics Update!
Men’s and Women’s Tennis
The final week of Austin College Tennis home matches is upon us #RooNation, but not without celebration and incentives to encourage you to come out to the Elizabeth Russell Tennis Center.
On Friday, March 24th at 6:00PM, Men’s & Women’s Tennis will host Fan Appreciation Day by providing 100 hotdogs and chips for any Faculty, Staff, Students, Family, and Friends of Kangaroo Tennis. The match with the BluGolds from University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire is set to begin at 5:30, so come for the tennis and stay for the food!
Saturday, after the ‘Roos take on rival McMurry University at 9:00AM, come celebrate the accomplishments of our 3 Men’s Seniors and 5 Women’s Seniors for a special Senior Day Ceremony prior to the 3:00pm tilt with LeTourneau.
With three more chances to catch your Kangaroos in action before the tackle the meat of their Conference Schedule, we sincerely hope you come out in support for our Tennis Teams as you have all year!

Distance Track
With stellar performances in their first meet of the year, Austin College Distance Track goes on the road this weekend to McMurry University to try to improve on their already strong start.

Softball
The Kangaroo Softball Team picked up a thrilling 3-2 win in 8-innings on the road vs. Centenary College. The win over the Ladies in Shreveport marks the ‘Roos first SCAC victory of the 2017 Spring Season.
Next up is Texas Lutheran at Home for two double-headers on Friday and Saturday. Take down those Bulldogs, AC.

Baseball
The Kangaroos have now won three of their last five games after defeating Hendrix College over Spring Break and taking two of three from University of Dallas this past weekend.
With Texas Lutheran on the road Friday and Saturday, Austin College will hope to move over .500 in the SCAC standings to improve their resume for the Conference Tournament at the end of April.
