Lowery Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo football player Dakota Lowery.

Lowery, a freshman wide receiver from Gunter, has put together an outstanding first year of college football. Earlier this season he was named the American Southwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week after a strong performance in a win against Crown College, and this past weekend he had his second game with 100 or more receiving yards at McMurry. Lowery caught five passes for 108 yards with a touchdown in the game, and he currently leads the ASC with an average of 17.6 yards-per-catch. Through eight games, Lowery ranks second on the team with 22 receptions and leads the 'Roos with 387 yards and three touchdowns through the air.

Modern Woodmen of America is proud to recognize and support the ongoing achievements of Austin College student-athletes. Their North Texas Region understands that the pursuit of excellence on and off the field creates a foundation for continued excellence after graduation.
