Barrett Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo softball player Kaitlyn Barrett.

Barrett, a freshman from Franktown, Colo., has been an impact player and one of the top first year performers in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, and is currently among the conference leaders in home runs, slugging percentage, and runs batted in. Barrett's bat was red-hot in the month of March, finishing with a .394 batting average in 11 games, including a homer, four doubles, and nine RBI. She also scored seven runs and boasted a .429 on-base percentage, as well as a .606 slugging percentage for the month.

Modern Woodmen of America is proud to recognize and support the ongoing achievements of Austin College student-athletes. Their North Texas Region understands that the pursuit of excellence on and off the field creates a foundation for continued excellence after graduation.
