SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo men's basketball player Jason Jones Jr.

Jones, a junior from Houston, has been an All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference performer during his time at Austin College in addition to earning CSC Academic All-District honors this year. He was also recently recognized by the SCAC as one of its male Character & Community Award winners. Jones comes from a military background, with his mother serving in the United States Air Force. One of the top rebounders in the SCAC and a member of the conference's Academic Honor Roll, Jones plans on following in his mother's footsteps and enlisting in the Air Force with an eye toward working with public relations and communications.
