Mallory Named Modern Woodmen Student-Athlete of the Week

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo baseball player Trystan Mallory.

Mallory, a sophomore from Bonham, had a career-best game in a 5-1 victory over Lyon College. The southpaw hurler earned Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week accolades after fanning 14 batters in just 6.0 innings of work to improve to 2-0 on the season, scattering three hits and allowing only one unearned run. His strikeout total marks a career high, and the most by an Austin College pitcher since the 2007 campaign. It also brought him into a tie for the conference lead with 31 strikeouts on the year, and he lowered his earned-run-average to 1.23 this season in the win.

Modern Woodmen of America is proud to recognize and support the ongoing achievements of Austin College student-athletes. Their North Texas Region understands that the pursuit of excellence on and off the field creates a foundation for continued excellence after graduation.
