SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo women's basketball player Sarah Putnicki.

Putnicki, a sophomore forward from Gunter, has come on strong in December for the 'Roos, hitting double figures in the scoring column in two of the team's last three games. That includes a season-high 16 points at Millsaps, as well as a 14 point effort against UT-Dallas. Overall, Putnicki enters the final weekend of 2022 averaging 9.8 points in the month of December, and overall this year she's averaging 8.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, and is among the conference leaders with 1.2 blocks-per-game. Last season, Putnicki was a second team All-SCAC selection after an outstanding first year for the 'Roos.
