SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College athletics is excited to announce the Modern Woodmen of America Student-Athlete of the Week, an award highlighting our great student-athletes on and off the field of play each week. This week's honoree is 'Roo men's swimmer Cody Dean.

Dean, a junior from Keller, was recognized by the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference as this week's SCAC Character & Community Male Student-Athlete of the Week for his service and volunteer work both in the Austin College community and dating back to his high school years. Dean has worked extensively with US Paraswimming, talking to elementary school kids about striving for their goals even when faced with adversity, and also serves as a member of the 'Roo Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. Dean has also volunteered as an assistant coach with Sherman High swimming and diving this semester, in addition to continuing in his leadership role with the Austin College swim team.
