Austin College to Celebrate Joy and Jerry Apple on October 29

Austin College will be celebrating two of its most generous and legendary supporters on October 29, as the 'Roo football team plays its final home game of the season. That day will be Joy and Jerry Apple Celebration Day, honoring the late Jerry Apple '60 and his wife Joy for their longtime commitment to the College and Kangaroo athletics.

At halftime of the game, which kicks off at 1:00 p.m. against Southwestern University in Jerry E. Apple Stadium, the Apples will be honored by the 'Roo football team and members of the Austin College Student Athlete Advisory Council.

We encourage all friends, family, former teammates of Jerry, and any football players who have called Apple Stadium home will join us for this event.

Joy and Jerry Apple have long been ardent supporters and advocates for Kangaroo athletics, providing the major funding for the construction of Apple Stadium as well as creating the Jerry and Joy Apple Challenge. That Challenge, and the gift provided by the Apples to kick it off last year, is an effort to see assistant coaches added to all of our athletics programs.

The Joy and Jerry Apple Celebration will take place in conjunction with Senior Day for the Kangaroo football team. We hope to see you there.
