McCormack Earns CWPA Weekly Honor

SHERMAN, Texas - Austin College women's water polo player Erin McCormack has been named the Collegiate Water Polo Association Division III Defensive Player of the Week for her stellar performance last weekend, the league office has announced.

McCormack, a junior goalie from Orlando, Fla., was outstanding for the 'Roos as the team went 3-0 to open up conference competition last weekend in Illinois. In the opening game of the weekend, McCormack held Wittenberg to just two goals while coming up with 11 blocks and an assist, and then helped the 'Roos limit Macalester to six goals while coming up with nine blocks and two steals. She wrapped up the weekend with a huge performance against Augustana, who at the time was ranked No. 5 in Division III, with 13 blocks and two more steals in an 8-5 victory.

This marks the second time this season that McCormack has earned Defensive Player of the Week honors from the CWPA.
