Kovacs Earns All-SCAC Recognition

SUWANEE, Ga. - Austin College volleyball player Laynie Kovacs has been named second team All-Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference for her outstanding debut season with the 'Roos, the league office has announced.

Kovacs, a freshman libero from McKinney, was also second in the voting for SCAC Freshman of the Year, third in SCAC Backrow Player of the Year, and fourth in SCAC Player of the Year voting. Kovacs finished the regular season ranked second in the SCAC in total digs with 610, and ranked third in the league with an average of 5.6 digs-per-set. She had 18 matches this season with better than 20 digs, including a high of 45 against Mary Hardin-Baylor, and had four more matches with more than 30 digs. Kovacs also finished third in the SCAC with an average of 0.4 service aces-per-set.
