'Roos Cruise Past Howard Payne

BROWNWOOD, Texas - The Austin College volleyball team cruised to a 3-0 sweep over Howard Payne University in a Tuesday evening road match, bringing the 'Roos to 6-5 overall on the season and snapping a four-match skid.

Austin College came out strong with a 25-14 win in the opening set, and then took sets two and three by scores of 25-20 and 25-19 to clinch the win. Austin College hit .203 as a team, compared to just .095 for Howard Payne. Riley Abernethy led a balanced attack with seven kills and 12 digs, while TJ Folse and Olivia Linton each added six kills in the victory. Chloe Miller matched Abernethy with a team-best 12 digs, and Alyssa Holloway added 11. Brianne Tseng had 10 digs to go along with 12 assists, while Madison Manning paced Austin College with 19 assists. 

Up next for the 'Roos is a road match against NCAA Division II foe Southeastern Oklahoma on Saturday afternoon.
