SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Austin College men's and women's tennis teams stepped out of Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play to take on Our Lady of the Lake University on Friday, with both sides coming up short in 7-0 defeats to the Saints.

The teams of Maya Leisey and Sierra Thomas and Tara Tran and Karina Alvarez were bested by scores of 6-1 playing lines one and two on the women's side, while Tate Nelson and Luke Henley dropped a 6-1 decision on line one for the men while AJ Wueste and Neel Gautam came up just short in a 7-5 defeat on line two.

In singles competition on the men's side, Nelson fell 2-6, 2-6 playing on line one, while Wueste dropped his line two match by the same scores. Gautam competed at line three, falling 4-6, 0-6, and Henley was downed 5-7, 3-6 on line four. Yudai Abe dropped a 0-6, 0-6 line five match to finish out the day for the men.

On the women's side, Leisey and Thomas were topped 0-6, 0-6 at lines one and two, and Tran fell 1-6, 0-6 playing on line three. Alvarez was defeated 1-6, 2-6 playing at line four, and Cynthia Zapata took a 0-6, 0-6 loss in her line five match.
