'Roos Swim Well on Day Three of SCAC Meet

GARLAND, Texas - The Austin College men's and women's swim teams turned in more strong performances on Friday, as the 'Roos competed on day three of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship Meet. The 'Roo women ended the day with 223 total points, good for fifth so far in the meet, while the men are sixth with 146 total points.

Max Saenz continued his solid all-around performance at the meet with a seventh place finish in the 100 butterfly, coming in with a time of 51.73, and Liberty Chanin added a seventh place finish for the women in the 200 free with a time of 1:59.32. Chloe Hunt added an eighth place finish in the 100 backstroke, touching with a time of 1:02.92, and Sammi Thiele added her second top three finish of the meet with a time of 1:06.58 in the 100 breaststroke, good for third place.

The 400 medley relay team of Hunt, Thiele, Becca Tobias, and Chanin finished fourth with a time of 4:08.13, while the men's team of Sean Cookson, Alex Lai, Saenz, and Charles Stafford placed fifth in that same event for the men with a time of 3:38.85.

The 'Roos will wrap up the conference meet on Saturday, with finals beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Garland ISD Natatorium.
