Women's Soccer Battles to Scoreless Draw

SHERMAN, Texas - The Austin College women's soccer team had a number of high quality chances but were unable to capitalize, battling visiting Centenary College to a 0-0 draw on Senior Day for the 'Roos. Austin College is now 5-5-3 on the year and 1-1-2 in conference play.

Austin College and Centenary each had seven shot attempts in the opening half, with the 'Roos putting two on target compared to one for the Ladies. The 'Roos started asserting control after halftime, owning a 12-3 shot advantage, including putting five efforts on frame. However, Centenary keeper Madison Ersoff stopped all seven shots she faced in the game, while Austin College's Kenedie Lane and Amanda Zyla combined for the shutout, with Lane stopping a pair of shots.

Centenary had a late chance for the game-winner, as Cynthia Williams was able to get a shot away from 12 yards out with just four seconds left, but the attempt sailed high to enable the 'Roos to preserve the draw. Austin College will be back in action on Friday as they host Texas Lutheran.
